Getting to work with all the talented people

Emerging from his drumming training, Steve embarked on a musical journey that began with a fruitful collaboration with local guitarist and singer Bren Canty, a partnership that continues to this day. Eager to connect with active bands, he soon joined forces with Stan Whitehouse and the renowned saxophonist and rock & roll bagpipe player, Dave 'Brooksie' Brooks. This collaboration led to numerous gigs in London and introduced him to the legendary drummer Sam Kelly and the iconic Station Tavern in Ladbroke Grove, a cornerstone of the 1970s and 1980s London blues scene.

Performing at the Station Tavern's Sunday Jam proved to be a pivotal moment in Steve's career, offering the chance to play alongside top bands such as Shakey Vic, the Paul Lamb Band, 'Detroit' John Idan, Big Joe Louis, Wolfie Witcher, Pappa George, TJ Johnson, and many others.

This opportunity marked the beginning of a 25-year career during which he performed with numerous prominent London bands and at celebrated venues and events, including Dublin Castle, Dingwalls, Notting Hill Carnival, Hammersmith Apollo, Jazz Café, 100 Club, The Marquee Club, The Borderline, Bulls Head Barnes, and many more. His journey took him across the UK, with performances at major festivals such as Glastonbury, Womad, Green Man, and Shambala.

Internationally, Steve has toured extensively across the UK, Ireland, Europe (from Italy to Norway), and as far afield as Mexico and Japan. His diverse musical experiences include performing with well-known artists and bands like William Bell, Zoot Money, Lord Eric, Daniel O'Donnell, Chris Jagger, Zambula, The Foundations, Top Topham, England, Maluju, Abdul Raheem, Kangaroo Moon, Bristol Reggae Orchestra, John O'Reilly, Andy Mitchell, Baka Beyond, Pete Gill, Eddie Martin, London Calling, and many others.

Currently based in the picturesque South Wales, he continues to evolve as a musician by practicing, performing live, and working on new music in his home studio. He also offers online drum lessons.

Steve extends his heartfelt thanks to all the incredible musicians and bands he has had the privilege to work with over the years. Although not everyone could be mentioned here, their contributions are deeply valued and appreciated.
