Getting to work with all the talented people

After emerging from his drumming training Steve met and worked with local guitarist & singer Bren Canty, a colaboration which continues to this day. Being keen to meet working bands Steve was soon invited to join a band with Stan Whitehouse and Dave 'Brooksie' Brooks, the renowned sax and rock & roll bagpipe player! After lots of London gigs with Brooksie, Steve was introduced to notorious drummer Sam Kelly and to the Station Tavern in Ladbroke Grove, which was home to the London blues scene. Being invited to play at the Sunday Jam was an opportunity to play with many of the top working bands including Shakey Vic, Paul Lamb band, 'Detroit' John Idan, Big Joe Louis, Wolfie Witcher, Pappa George, TJ Johnson and many more.

This was Steve's leap into what became 25 years working with many top London bands, building his career and reputation while playing at famous venues and events such as Dublin Castle, Dingwalls, Notting Hill Carnival, Hammersmith Apollo, Jazz Cafe,100 Club, The Marquee Club, The Borderline, Bulls Head Barnes etc and then nationwide at many top UK clubs, theatres and festivals including Glastonbury, Womad, Green Man, Shambala etc.

Steve's international work has included gigs and tours across the UK, Ireland, Europe (from Italy to Norway) and world wide as far as Mexico and Japan. Including his own band Rhythm Rising Steve has played many styles of music with a diversity of well known artists and bands such as; William Bell,  Zoot Money,  Daniel O´Donnell, Chris Jagger, Zambula, The Foundations, Top Topham, England, Maluju, Abdul Raheem, Kangaroo Moon, Bristol Reggae Orchestra, John O'Reilly, Andy Mitchell, Baka Beyond, Pete Gill, Eddie Martin... and many more!

Steve is still practising, playing live and now living in beautiful South Wales. He continues developing his drumming style, writing and recording new music at his home studio and drum teaching on-line. Steve's recent gigs have included playing with the great Craig Webb in local band 'Supertonic' and also recent gigs in Spain with Chris Jagger and facilitating some dumming workshops at 'Tribal Gathering' in Holland.

Note: My appologies to the many great musicians and bands that I have had the pleasure to make music with over the years but have not had the space to include here - you are all much appreciated.
